We answer within 2 business days. Include the email address on your account, and, for anything about a purchase, the date and the amount. For data requests, deletion, or anything covered by the Privacy Policy, write to privacy@mutuals.life instead.
Companions are AI, not real people. They are software. No human writes or reviews their replies, and everything they say is generated. Mutuals is for adults: 18 and over.
Contact emergency services or a crisis line in your country. Mutuals is not monitored by humans in real time, it cannot help you in an emergency, and it will not alert anyone on your behalf. Please do not rely on a companion for a situation that needs a person.
You can start talking without one. Create an account when you want your conversations to persist and to follow you to another device. A guest session lives on the one device and is cleared after a period of inactivity.
In the app: Settings → Delete profile. This permanently deletes your account, your conversations, and the memory built from them. It cannot be undone.
If you cannot reach the app, email privacy@mutuals.life from the address on the account and we will delete it for you. We may need to verify your identity first, because we will not destroy an account on the say-so of whoever asks.
Deleting your account does not cancel an App Store or Google Play subscription. Cancel the subscription first, using the steps below, or Apple or Google will keep billing you.
Mutuals supports email and password everywhere, Sign in with Apple on iPhone, and Sign in with Google on Android. If you first signed up with Apple or Google, use that same button again. A password reset cannot find an account that never had a password.
| What | Type | What it does |
|---|---|---|
| Standard | Monthly or yearly subscription | A monthly message allowance; companions remember what matters to you |
| Premium | Monthly or yearly subscription | A larger monthly allowance; companions remember your story between chats |
| Boost, Boost Plus, Boost Max | One-off purchase | Tops up your messages when you run out. Does not renew. |
| Gifts (rose, bouquet, chocolates, teddy, ring) | One-off purchase | An item you send to a companion in a conversation. Does not renew. |
The message allowance for each plan is shown on the plan itself before you buy, and how a “message” is counted is set out in section 7 of the Terms.
Subscriptions renew automatically until you cancel, and the store you subscribed through handles the billing, not us: Apple on iPhone, Google on Android. So cancelling happens with them:
iPhone
Android
You can also get there from the app: Settings → Manage plan → Manage in App Store (or Manage in Google Play on Android) opens the right screen for your phone.
You keep what you have paid for until the end of the period you are already in. Cancelling with Apple or Google is the only thing that stops a renewal. Deleting the app does not, and neither does deleting your Mutuals account.
New phone, reinstalled app, or a plan that is not showing: Settings → Restore purchases. This asks the store what your account owns and re-applies it. Check that the phone is signed in to the same Apple ID or Google account that made the purchase, and that you are signed in to the same Mutuals account.
Apple and Google issue refunds for purchases made through their stores, and we cannot issue them on their behalf. On iPhone, request one at reportaproblem.apple.com. On Android, follow Google Play's refund steps. If something went wrong on our side, say you were charged and never received the messages or the gift, tell us at support@mutuals.life and we will put the balance right in the app regardless of what the store decides.
Companions build memory from your conversations, but it is selective rather than a transcript: it keeps what looks like it matters, and it is not perfect. Saying the thing again is usually enough for it to stick. Memory is also per companion: what you tell one is not shared with another.
Use the report control on the message itself. We keep reports even if you later delete the conversation, because a report that disappears with the evidence cannot be acted on. If a companion produced something you think crosses a line, we want to see it. That is how the guardrails get fixed.
Choose which kinds you receive in Settings → Notifications. The choice is stored on your account, so it follows you to any device you sign in on. To silence everything, use the phone's own settings: Settings → Notifications → Mutuals on iPhone, or Settings → Apps → Mutuals → Notifications on Android.
Your messages are sent to third-party AI providers so a reply can be generated, and we build a memory profile from what you tell a companion. Both are explained in full, without euphemism, in the Privacy Policy. The sections on AI providers and on memory are the ones people are usually surprised by.
We do not sell your data, and we do not use your conversations to train AI models.
To access, correct, export or delete your data, email privacy@mutuals.life. We respond within 30 days.
